Cutter Suction Dredger makes use of a cutter head to loosen the material to be dredged and pumps the dredged material via a pipeline ashore or into barges. The powerful cutter swings around the spud pole powered by winches while dredging, then the high-pressure sand pump sucks up the loosened mixed materials to the destination through the suction pipe. The cutter suction dredger is suitable for heavy-duty and durable dredging operations with a dismountable structure.
Cutter suction dredger is often designed easily to transport by road, rail, or by ship due to its reasonable size and weight of the various dismountable modules. The complete cutter suction dredger consists of one main pontoon and two side pontons which are mounted to the main pontoon using heavy-duty steel eyes and pins at the bottom of the hull, they are connected at deck level. The pontoons are welded steel constructions with heavy frames, beams, and longitudinal girders. Extra reinforcements are placed where necessary to withstand all forces while dredging. It is widely used for river silt cleaning, delisting lakes and ponds, mining project, cleaning ports, and sand production.

Cutter Suction Dredger
Mr. James, someone working in dredging from Singapore, contacted us on Feb. 6th, 2021. His company charged a dredging project locally, now they need a Cutter Sand Suction Boat to start because the sediments are mostly silt and sand. If using the jet suction dredger, the silt couldn't be jetted up smoothly. After receiving this inquiry, we made a Whatsapp group at first, including the customer and our engineers. Then we started to ask about the working condition locally, such as the water depth, dredging depth, discharge distance, and the sand capacity they expect.
Through simple communication, we learned the following working conditions:
1. Water depth: 7 m
2. Total dredging depth: 10 m
3. Sand and silt capacity: 150 m3/h
4. Discharge distance: 500 m
According to the above information, we choose some models in different pump types for the cutter suction dredger firstly. Then we received the detailed sand analysis report from James. "It's really helped a lot," our engineer (Mr. Mee) said, " the detailed analysis report helps us to confirm the most suitable pump model and engine, it saves a lot of time to confirm again and again and reduce the possibility of mistakes." Then we recommended our 10-inch gravel pump for James, and the engine power is 353 kW ( 480HP). There are simple parameters of the whole dredger:

We sent the quotation for the 10-inch cutter suction dredger with the detailed specification list to the customer. They received that they need some time to discuss and then feedback to us. On Feb. 14th, we received the feedback. James said, " Our engineers agree with your plan very much, but there are still a few details that need to be reconfirmed again. After all, there is no doubt, we will arrange for purchasing personnel to contact you. " Then according to the requests and questions, our engineers gave a complete reply and our suggestions. Finally, we got this order in Mar. 4th. The first purchase fund is 40% of the total amount, as the deposit. We arranged the production plan and started to prepare the material and machine. The production time is a total of 40 days, we loaded the goods on Apr. 20th. We also sent the videos and pictures while testing and loading. After shipping, we helped the customer do the all documents for his customs clearance of this dredger. Now, this 10-inch cutter suction dredger is working well in Singapore.
